Beautiful You BSU032217

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Beautiful You for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.  This is one gorgeous set.

I love black and white to begin with. I decided to add just a pop of red for color. I added Real Red to here dress and the verse.  The verse is made using the Mini Treat Bag thinlits.  I cut the “for” off on the “for you” verse.

I love this set because I think it is so important to celebrate the strength of women.

Speaking of women, let’s see what Terri and Carol are up to this week.  Join us on Facebook, we would love to see what you come up with using this set.

Color Challenge BSU031517

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features a color challenge for Broke Stampers Unite.  This week we had to use Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzaz, and Daffodil Delight.

I am itching for spring.  We went from a blizzard one week, to warm weather the next week. So I am hoping the worst of winter is over, but then again it is only March in Maine.

Many times I when we have color challenges, I tend to think of flowers.  I am waiting for daffodils to poke through the ground.  That’s what inspired this weeks card.

I wonder what Terri and Carol created using these colors.  Join us on Facebook to show us what you create.

Ink to Paper BSU030812

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features the Ink to Paper technique for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

I absolutely love In the Meadow stamp set!  I use it a lot.  It can be used for masculine cards, but at the same time look how stinkin cut that little fawn is….

I used Very Vanilla card stock for this technique.  I ran the edge of Marina Mist on the top half of the card stock for the sky.  I used Old Olive on the bottom half of the card stock for the grass.  I then stamped all the images with Early Espresso. Once everything was dry, I layered it onto Early Espresso card base.

Let’s check out what Carol and Terri created this week.  I am sure it is something really awesome.  We would love to see what awesome creations you can come up with for this weeks challenge.  Join us on Facebook.

Hey Chick It’s Saleabration BSU030117

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Hey Chick from the Saleabrations catalog for a Broke Stampers Unite Challenge.

OMG just look at this chicken.  I don’t know the name of the breed but I just love the “hair doo”.  I sorta look like that when I wake up. This chick alone is worth getting this set!

There is a super cute little egg that goes with the set as well. Click the image to the right to see how stinkin’ cute the little egg is.

What do you think the other chicks of Broke Stampers Unite have come up with?  Terri’s blog is here and Carol’s blog is here.  We would love to see what you can create with these chicks, join us on Facebook.

Dragonfly Dreams BSU02222017

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Dragonfly Dreams for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

If you enjoyed this project, follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and You Tube. Don’t forget to share me with your friends.

My background is actually the salt technique.  If you haven’t heard of this, it is very easy.  Mist your whisper white card stock with water.  Add a few drops of re-inkers to the card stock.  If you want the ink to spread a little more than what it is, mist a little more water on it.  While the card stock is still wet, add corse salt.  Do not move the salt until the card stock is dry.  To make this go faster, you can use a heat tool.

I cut the dragon fly from retired black glimmer paper which I think is really pops off my “galaxy” background. Everything is layered on a Tempting Turquoise card base.

Let’s check out what Terri and Carol made this week.  Don’t forget to share your creations with us on Facebook.

Color Challenge BSU021517

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features a color challenge for Broke Stampers Unite challenge.  We have to use Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Whisper White.

If you are like me, color challenges can be difficult.  I usually think of flowers, but this week I decided Paisleys and Posies would work just as well. I added a little ribbon to add some dimension.

AquaColoring BSU020817

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features coloring with Aqua painters or a coloring technique for this weeks Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

I paint with acrylic paints somewhat, so I like using the Aqua Painters and ink pads to color with. It is very similar to painting with regular paints and a paint brush. My more difficult decision to make was picking which stamp set to use to color with.

Mediterranean Moments would be nice for this technique as well, but I figure it’s always nice to have a more masculine card on hand.  In the Meadow it is!

I really like In the Meadow since my folks live in the country and see deer (and other critters) quite frequently.

Let’s see what the girls are up to this week.  They are so creative.  Carol’s blog is here and Terri’s blog is here.  Join us on Facebook for this and other challenges.

Love/Valentine’s Day BSU020117

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Love/Valentine’s Day for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

I made this card with my daughter in mind.  She isn’t a girly girl and she doesn’t care for pink very much.  Oh well, I’m her mom and she will have to put up with a little.

I stamped the background with Timeless Texture using Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, and Basic Gray.  The heart is from You’re So Sweet and it was cut with the die from the Mini Gift Bag set.  I placed a pink ribbon on the heart.

I wonder what the girls made this week.  Terri’s blog is here.  Carol’s blog is here.  Join us on Facebook for this challenge or our other challenges.  We would love to see what you come up with.

Mediterranean Moments BSU012517

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features using a set from the Occasions catalog for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.  I chose Mediterranean Moments.  Its such a great set for all sorts of coloring techniques. I used markers this week.

I used Versa Mark to stamp a background.on the Tempting Turquoise. Smokey Slate are the gray layers and card base.  I stamped the image with black and used markers to color the moped.

These images remind me of old Audrey Hepburn movies, or is that just me??  Either way, they are beautiful.

Joseph’s Coat Technique BSU 011117

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features the Joseph’s Coat Technique for a Broke Stampers Unite Challenge.

For some reason, even though this isn’t a difficult technique, I have never done it.

It starts of with sponging colors onto white card stock.  Next, stamp with versa mark ink and emboss with clear embossing powder.

Once the embossing is complete, cover the entire project with a dark color.

Broke Stampers Unite Challenge 010417

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.  This week was stampers choice for a stamp set.  I chose Timeless Textures.  The verse is a retired set called So Sorry.

Unfortunately, I needed a lot of sympathy cards.  I had a half dozen to send out.  I made this a one layer card since I needed so many.  I stamped with Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder on Very Vanilla. Sorry the photo is a little dark.

So lets see what Carol and Terri made.  Visit Carol’s blog here and Terri’s blog here.  Join us on Facebook here.

Winter Challenge BSU122816

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features winter stamp sets for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

Stamping with Stace winter birthdayMy family has lots of birthdays from mid-May through June; and mid-December through February.  Summer birthday cards are fairly easy.  Winter birthdays are a little harder since many winter stamps have to do with holidays.

I took this winter challenge and added birthday to it.  I used Sheltering Tree which can be used for any time of year. Happy Birthday is from Butterfly Basics.  Does the snow swirl seem somehow familiar? It is the beard to Santa from he Detailed Santa thinlit cut from velum!  I cut off the top section.

I used Marina Mist card stock and ink for this project as well.

Christmas BSU120716

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features a Christmas Theme for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

Happy Christmas from Stamping with StaceWhat says Christmas more than Santa.  I used the Greetings from Santa stamp set with the Detailed Santa thinlits.

This is card was a project I made with my stamp club.  It is a shaker card.  I layered Whisper White on top of Night of Navy.  I used some retired “snow” from quite a few years ago.  A small pinch goes a small ways.  I used this instead of glitter or sequins.  Note to self order more.

The verse is from Greetings from Santa stamped with Night of Navy ink.  Inside it says HO HO HO in Night of Navy ink as well.

Let’s check out Carol and Terri’s blogs this week to see what they are creating for Christmas.  Join our group on Facebook, we would love to see what you are creating.

Petite Petals- BSU112316

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Petite Petals for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

Stamping with Stace petite petals swirly birdIt has been awhile since I have used this stamp set.  Since it is late fall, I have noticed lots of fall wreaths on doors of the homes in my area.  That was an inspiration for this card.

The Swirly Bird thinlits make a great wreath.  I cut it from Old Olive.  I stamped a flower from Petite Petals onto Crushed Curry card stock with Pumpkin Pie.

The card base is Garden Green with a layer of Pumpkin Pie.  I stamped with the Swirly Bird images with Pumpkin Pie ink as well.  Surpised is stamped with Basic Black.  I used Surprised from Tin of Tags.  I have a great birthday card for one of the many birthdays I have coming up.

Adorable Ugly Sweater

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features the cable knit embossing folder to make an adorable ugly sweater!

Stamping with Stace ugly sweaterWinter is coming and soon we will need our winter seaters.  The cable knit embossing folder is great for this!

I cut my tree out first and adhered it to my card stock before I used the embossing folder.  This way it looks like your images was “knit” into the pattern.  I cut a V shape out of the sweater and added a half inch collar.  I used an old crimping tool, but if you don’t have one of those, use your score board to make the ripples in your card stock.  All of this is placed on a vanilla base.  A circle framelit cut the neckline.  You could leave this straight if you wanted to.
