Strawberry Slush Tic Tac

imageHi Stampers, welcome to the Creative Spa!

The other day my daughter wanted some strawberry Tic Tacs. I said sure on one condition.  I wanted to decorate it first.  It’s been a long time since I covered a mint container.  Since she chose strawberry mints, I just had to use Strawberry Slush paper and a little bit of retired ribbon.

I used A Round Array stamp set.  I punched it with the  7/8″ Scallop Punch. Of course every project needs a little bling so I used the 1 1/4″ Scallop Punch to punch Silver Glimmer Paperimage

My daughter was so cute.  Once she finished all the mints, she gave the container back since I put so much work into decorating it.  Got to love her to pieces!

Today I am packing my car to go to a local Stampin’ Up! demonstrators meeting.  Part of the week I have spent part of this week turning card fronts into full cards so they can be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Portland.  I had two helpers.  They are 6 and 7 year olds.  The seven year old helped score and fold card bases.  She also like to use the glue (snail adhesive). The six year old wasn’t as helpful.  In fact, she was quite irritated that the box was not for her to play with.

10628619_947668311926958_8646526897151787291_nEventually, she let me have the box again and we filled the box with all sorts of cards, tags and bookmarks.

Don’t you just love the dirty look I am getting while taking this photo.  It says “You really think this box belongs to you?”

Next week I should have some card samples for you to see.  I made 26 cards to swap at the meeting. We will also be making a few projects while we are there.  Would you like to come to demonstrator meetings to learn new techniques and to hear the latest Stampin’ Up! news?  Join Stampin’ Up this week and receive $150 of supplies (that you select) for only $99. Not Much Going On in the Creative Spa

Hello Creative Spa goers!

The past few days I have not been able to visit my creative spa.  :( I have been busy with a few other things.  You know how they come in threes (at least) My water heater broke, so for just over a week I had to heat water to do anything.  Luckily, my dishwasher heats the water up to a certain temperature.  So I had hot water for dishes without a problem.

My first shower once getting hot water back, I found water in my kitchen.  Luckily it was a simple fix.  The shower drain had loosen.  A little tightening and that was fixed.

My dryer stopped heating.  After spending ungodly amounts of money for a repair man, it isn’t the dryer itself, but a worn outlet.  However, he repaired my washing machine that stopped draining in the spring.  So now I can finally wash clothes at home and let them drip dry.  All the week before I go back to work full time. :)

I will be spending the next few days working in my classroom getting ready for a new group of children. This weekend I will be going to a demonstrators meeting in Saco, ME so I will have new ideas and photos of projects to show you.  Lastly, before I go to  Saco, I will be turning card fronts into full cards to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House!

Before I end this post, I want to thank everyone who came to Stamp Club Sunday.  I also want to thank everyone who signed up for my Blendabilities 101 Class.  Don’t forget to order you Big Shot Bundle this month.

Fun Flower Punch Fun

Hi Stampers! Welcome back to my Creative Spa!

imageYou all know how much fun I have with punches.  I love the new Fun Flower Punch.  I have made more than THREE DOZEN cards with this punch already! I can’t believe I have made that already and I don’t own any of the matching stamp sets.

This card has several new items from the catalog. I used the 2014-2015 In Colors Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey Designer Series Paper.

Not only did I used the Fun Flower Punch for the main part of the flower; I used the 3/4″ Circle Punch, 7/8″ Circle Punch, and the little flower from Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  A pearl, some Venetian Crochet Trim, and a verse from And Many More make a wonderful autumn themed card. I made two dozen of these for a local demonstrator meeting I am going to later this month.  I really hope they will enjoy my card.  I hope you enjoyed it as well.

Celebrate Love

Welcome Stampers to my Creative Spa!

imageI guess love was in the air when I was stamping.  Here is another card celebrating love.  This could be used for a annivarsary or a wedding card.  Any color combination could be used depending on the need.

Have you noticed the new masks in the catalog?  I used the Hearts & Stars Decorative Mask. The masks are so easy to use.  If you have a little bit of painters tape, it will make it that much easier.  Place a small piece of tape on the back of you card to hold it in place.  I couldn’t find my tape so I used a glue dot.  Be very careful removing it because it can tear your card stock.

Next, ink up your Sponge Dauber.  Rub your ink over the openings in a circular motion. I started at the bottom and worked my way to the top without re-inking the sponge.  This is what caused the faded look.  You would do the reverse and have the lighter shade at the bottom or re-ink your sponge and have a solid color.  There are so many choices.

Once again, punches made the layers of this card super easy! The Decorative Label Punch,  the Scallop Oval Punch, and the Large Oval Punch.  Glimmer Paper for some bling and a little Venetian Crochet Trim for added romance.

Don’t forget August is Big Shot Bundle Month.  Order a Big Shot and receive on of several stamp set and framelit bundles FREE!  If you already own a big Shot you can get the bundles at a 15% discount!  I just love Bundles and saving $$!

A Sweetheart Wedding

Hi Stampers!  Welcome to my Creative Spa.              I love this new Sweetheart Punch!  It is almost imagethe shape of a hand drawn heart.  You know they type you drew on your notebooks when y
ou were a teenager.  Remember those days?

Doesn’t his card remind you of that wonderful sense of love?  I think the Lovely Lace embossing folder adds a simple elegance to the card.  I also used the flower from the  Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack,  and the Modern Label Punch which works so well with the stamp set And Many More.   The Whisper White cotton ribbon helps “tie the knot.”  Sorry, I couldn’t help myself for that pun.

Sail Away Work of Art

imageHi Stampers!

Here is another card from the creative spa.  This idea has been  all over the internet.  I just love it when people think outside the box.  I don’t remember seeing one with clouds-I can’t remember.  Work of Art is such a versatile stamp set.

What creative ideas have you come up with?

Watercolor Work of Art

Hi Stampers!

imageHere we are with our second project using Work of Art. The base of the card is Watercolor Paper.

For the background, I inked the stamp with a Stampin’ Write Marker, then stamped if off once before stamping on the watercolor paper.  The second time I used the markers full strength, and then stamped.  To give it the blurry watercolor effect, I sprayed a little bit of water onto the card.

I cut a banner out of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped one of the “swishes” with Strawberry Slush ink.  Stamped the verse,  a little Bakers Twine and a Clips Essentials Hardware clip.

Wouldn’t this be adorable to send to a friend?

Work of Art Week

Hi Stampers!

imageBack in May, I went to a Stampin’ Up! regional event.  We all received a stamp set called Work of Art. I love going to Stampin’ Up! events- they spoil us so much.

Here is one of my creations I will be featuring this week.  It works wonderfully by itself or used as background stamps for other cards.  This weeks cards will feature only Work of Art.

I do have one VERY IMPORTANT TIP for you. If you order the wood mount set.  It fits exactly in the box.  I would take a photo of how the blocks are arranged. Next cut a piece of paper or card stock to fit inside the box and stamp your images on it in the place where they belong.  Other wise you may have a puzzle every time you use this set; or if they fall out when you open the box.  Hmmm, guess how I know how frustrating it is to solve that puzzle.

I can’t wait to show you all the things you can do with this stamp set.  Some are my own creations.  Some I learned from Stampin’ Up!’s home office, and some I cased from ideas I have seen on Pinterest.

Blendabilities 101

CIAF-Group2-Jul14

If you are like many of my customers you have been curious about alcohol markers but hesitant to try them because of expense and complicated color systems. Stampin’ Up! has seen the need and a simple and affordable alternative in the newly released Stampin’ Blendabilities alcohol markers. I am so excited to share them with you!

Alcohol markers are popular for their vibrant colors and the ability to blend and shade without the streaking you can get with traditional markers. Other brands offer quality and variety, but can be frustrating to use and too costly for paper crafters. Stampin’ Blendabilities come in sets of 3 pre- coordinated (light, medium, and dark) shades of the same color instead of complicated scheme that take time to learn. The colors coordinate with all our products, making it easy for you to coordinate your coloring with cardstock, Designer Series Paper and embellishments.

These markers don’t require expensive paper to look good, I recommend our Whisper White cardstock. Let me show you how you can use these markers on more than just paper. I know over a dozen different techniques for alcohol markers

I am holding a Blendabilites 101 Class at our local Middle School.  August 27 at 6 pm.  You will leave with two full cards, two 3×3″ cards and a sticky note holder. It’s time to unleash your inner artist!

Reserve your spot today and get ready to learn some of the many alcohol marker techniques that I know you’ll love using again and again!

Class includes the projects featured above PLUS you will receive your own set of Blendabilities Markers to take home with you that night.

Join me live for $25 or
Class To Go option for $30

You must register with me no later than August 18 for either option. Email me today to reserve your spot. Space is limited.
