Botanicals for You- Sale-A-Bration

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Sale-A-Brations  Botonicals for You.

botanicals for you. saleabration 2016I just love the verses with this set and the large verse “Just for You”. Plus the cute flowers, Heaven!

These little flowers just shout pretty, bright colors are needed to me. Plus, I want spring to get here.  We have had snow this past week :(   Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Pumpkin Pie are so bright and cheerful for this card.  Old Olive is wonderful for the sentiment and leaves as well.

I layered it on Pumpkin Pie card stock, and my card base is Melon Mambo.  This is one of those quick cards for our Creative Chaotic lives.  If I received this card with some chocolate, I would be in heaven.

Don’t forget this stamp set is from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  The Sale-a-bration catalog is filled with items that can be yours FREE with every $50 you spend.  Check out the catalog here.

Sale-A-Bration Broke Stamper Unite

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features What I Love from the Sale-a-bration catalog which runs from January 5-March 31, 2016.  For every $50 you spend on stamping supplies, you will receive a free item from this special catalog.

what I love saleabration embossing resist

Even though this is a three step stamping set, I wanted to review a few techniques.  This card is an embossing resist technique.  I started with white shimmer paper, stamped with Versa Mark ink, and embossed with white embossing powder.  It can be difficult to see, if you tilt your card in the light will help.

After the embossing is done, I started to color with my sponge daubers.  I started with the center of the flowers.  I used Cajun Craze in the very center, then Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight.  I also sponged Daffodil Delight all over the card so it wouldn’t be stark white.  I sponged the leaves with Old Olive ink.  Don’t worry if you go outside the lines on this card.  It is fine.

Finally, I took a tissue to the top of the embossing,  This wipes off any extra ink, and really helps the white embossing pop.

My second card was also stamped and embossed white on Wisteria Wonder card stock .  I used the White Wash what i love white washtechnique.  It sounds complicated, but it means to paint it white with diluted ink.

I put a dab of my white craft ink refill on my silicone pad.  I added a few drops of water to mix in with it.  I used my aqua painter to fill in the flowers.  I used a tissue to dab my paint as I went.  I didn’t want my paper to get too wet.  Once I finished painting my flowers, I thought the leaf stems really stood out.  I traced around think leaves with the aqua painter.  I stamped a verse in the middle with white craft ink and embossed it in clear.  I mounted it onto a Blushing Bride base.

I’m very excited to see what Carol and Terri have made, and which sets from the Saleabration catalog they will use.  Check out Carol’b blog here and Terri’s blog here.

Check out the new catalogs here. If you need a paper version, let me know by completely filling out the form here.  Don’t forget Saleabration doesn’t last long. Order your supplies now.

See Ya Later Alligator

image…Not for awhile crocodile!

I posted a close up of this project to see if anyone could guess what it was.  The closest I got was “an eye” of some sort.  Which was pretty close.

I saw a card on Pinterest. Brenda Quintana was the original designer. I cased her alligator using her directions.  Because of this card I wanted to make, I had to place another order to get  the Saleabration set See Ya Later.  I love how she could think outside the box on this one.  I think this card is going to be awesome to send nieces, nephews, and little baby cousins.

Are you ready to learn how to make this card?

Hexagon Hive Soccer Scrapbook

image

Good Morning Stampers.  Yesterday, I mentioned I learned how to make a soccer ball with the Hexagon Hive Framelit from Lynn Starzl.  As soon as I saw her little soccer card, I knew I HAD TO HAVE the Hexagon Hive Framelit.

My daughter had played soccer last fall and between myself and the school photographer, I ended up with several nice digital photos.  Now I need to get them printed.

My daughter is also participating in Spring Indoor Soccer.  I may be making lots of soccer ball scrapbook pages and cards for coaches.

imageI cut the Hexagon Hive Framelit from Basic Black card stock and then glued it to a piece of Whisper White.  I the then placed everything on my magnetic  plate in my Big Shot.  When using the Circle Framelits to make the balls, you can get at least two depending on the size of the balls you make.  In this photo, I used the 3rd and 4th circles from the center of the set.

The base of the scrapbook page is a piece of 8″x8″ Soft Sky card stock.  The grass is Wild Wasabi cut 1 1/2″x8″.  I used the Fringe Scissors to make the grass. I cut a photo frame 4 1/4″x 6 1/4″.  Finally, I used the Banner Punch to cut So Saffron banners to trim the photo. The year was stamped using ABC-123 Alphabet & Number  clear stamp set with Tempting Turquoise ink.

I’m off to the store to pick up my photos.

Suppllies needed to make this project:

  • 133325 Fringe Scissors
  • 132965 Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die
  • 130911 Circles Collections Framelits
  • 113439 Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
  • 130658 Magnetic Platform
  • 131203 Soft Sky Card Stock
  • 108641 Wild Wasabi Card Stock
  • 100730 Whisper White Card Stock
  • 105118 So Saffron Card Stock
  • 126952 Tempting Turquoise Ink Pad
  • 130565 ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers
  • 133519 Banner Punch (Free from the Saleabration Catalog with $50 purchase)

Banner Blast- Saleabration Sneak Peek

imageHere is a card using lots of products from the Saleabration catalog that will start Jan 28, 2014.  It also uses the 2012-2014  In Colors.  They will only be available a few more months as well.  I will miss them, will you?

The base is Raspberry Ripple. The top layer is Primrose Petals embossed with Decorative  Dots Embossing Folder our first Saleabration item.

The small banners are from a set called Banner Blast; each one was colored with one of the 2012-2014 In Color markers.   These are the perfect size for markers.  Don’t forget, markers are a great way to get lots of color on a project. Banner Blast is the second item from the Saleabration catalog.

After the little banners were stamped, I punched them with a coordinating banner punch.  Item number three from the Saleabration catalog.  This punch will also be carried over in the 2014-2015 Big Idea Book & Catalog.

The large banner was stamped with an image from Love You to the Moon.  It was then cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits and Big Shot.  All the banners are hung on a piece of  the new silver bakers twine.

Bloomin’ Marvelous

This post should really be called Bloomin Marvelous with Blunders (or Bloopers). Do you have any bad habits?  I won’t make you tell me what they are.  However, one of my bad habits, is not cleaning my stamps right away. Very rarely does that ever bother me.  I don’t even clean off the Staz-On. Another time I will tell you why.

Ok getting back on target. Like I said, I rarely clean my stamps.  Only if I am going to use yellow or pale pink do I ever wash my stamps.  I know for sure I those light colors are going to take the dark color right off my dirty stamps.

I do want it to be known, that for this project I did clean of my stamps.  My versa mark ink pad was contaminated with Cherry Cobbler ink….Again, I want it to be known, I did notice that.  I even tried getting the Cherry Cobbler off my versa mark pad.  I even went as far as to re-ink it.

cards pink brown copyWith all that being said, do you see how some of the flowers have a pink hue to them?  Yep, that is faint Cherry Cobbler ink.  I use the embossed resist technique. (I’ve also heard it called Ghosting Technique as well.) So some of my flowers turned out pink.  It was light enough pink it was almost Pink Pirouette that I just “went with it”.

At The Corner Of Syamore Street and Secret Garden

Here is another cute and simple card made with the Sycamore Street

starfruit secret garden

Designer Series Paper, Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack, Secret Garden stamp set and Feels Good stamp set.

Summer Starfruit was one of those colors when it first came out I thought- eeewww it looks like mustard turned bad (ok so that is being nice, I really thought it looked like baby poop).  Guess what?  I have used all of my Summer Starfruit and I have to order some more.  It may not look like much just sitting there by itself, but once you put it with other rich colors, it is beautiful. Look around you will see it in stores as accent pillows, in sweaters, I even saw it as nail polish.  It just goes to show you can teach an ol’ girl new tricks.

Still Lovin’ Sycamore Street!

secret garden sab

I don’t know what I will do when Saleabration is over.  I have fallen in love with the Sycamore Street DSP.  Are you like me? Originally, I really didn’t care for this paper-but as usual it is SO pretty in person!

The Designer Series Paper is so pretty by itself it doesn’t need a lot of stamping to take away from it.  This is a great card for beginner stampers. It really only has two stamped images in Rich Razzleberry ink. How simple is that???  SUPER SIMPLE.

Two Weeks Left Of Saleabration

sab card Don’t miss out on Saleabration, Stampin Up’s biggest sales event of the year.  There are so many beautiful things in the Saleabration catalog–there are enough items to make a complete card like this one here.  I don’t know if this card has a special name for the fold or not.  Basically, it is a regular fold card with the top folded back on it’s self.  It almost looks like a Z. (Well, I just googled it and it is called a Z folded card.  Hmmm imagine that?)

Anyhow, I used the SAB set Bloomin Marvelous and the Sycamore Street DSP and the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack. I love the fact that Stampin Up coordinates its papers so they match.  I am not one who matches different patterns together.  Stampin Up does the work for me.

Love Is In The Air

Valentine’s Day was only a few weeks ago.  Did you do anything special? Here is a super simple scrapbook layout to remember those special moments. Isn’t it just adorable??heartscrapbook pages full1

Both pages are 8″x8″.  They were super fast and easy to put together. The  Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper is cute 7 3/4″x 2″.  The white scallops were punched with the scallop boarder punch.

On the first page:

The journaling box is a 3″ x 3″ piece of whisper white, layered on 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ pool party. Red glimmer paper is punched with the heart punch. Large rhinestones and a heart paperclip with a piece of Sycamore ribbon adorn the journaling box.

On the second page:

The large heart is cut from whisper white using the largest heart framelit and is paper pierced for extra dimension.  The heart is adorned with a button and ribbon from the Sycamore button/ribbon bundle, and red glimmer paper punched with the 7/8″ scallop punch.  “Love” is written with the silver dazzle marker.

Now my husband and I will have to go do something special and have a photo taken of us since he had to work on Valentine’s Day.

If It Doesn’t Move-Stamp It!

If it doesn't move, stamp it.

If it doesn’t move, stamp it.”

“If it doesn’t move-Stamp it!” is a common phrase in my stamping life.  I have made many 3D items in my life.  Things like coasters, keychains, all sorts of chocolate holders.  You get the idea.

As I have said, I am starting new.  New website, new blog, new craft room.  One evening while I was organizing my punches, I realized I had not put my name on my new style punches.  My old punches have my name scribbled on the metal with which ever permanent marker I could reach at the time.  Where or where was I going to put my name on these new style punches from Stampin Up that stack so nicely??  Oh look, they have a nice smooth edge on one side.  STACE isn’t a very large name and I have a personalized stamp that just happens to say “Stace”.

Here is one thing you can do with personalized stamps, StazOn ink and a non porous surface. You can label all your stamping supplies!  And why stop at your stamping supplies?  You could stamp your name (and maybe even your address too) into your books, magazines, the bottom of your coffee mug or chocolate container.  Oh maybe that is just me with the special coffee cup and chocolate container…

So get your punches and Black Staz-on ink (101406) now. While you are shopping, don’t forget to order your Sale-A-Bration items too.
