Swap Cards

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features cards from all my stamper friends.  I participated in a swap this summer. (Yes, I am very late posting these even though they have been on my computer for a very long time.)  So here are some beautiful cards made by a group of beautiful ladies.

Leaves-BSU102616

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Leaves for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.  When this challenge first came up, I didn’t think I even had any stamp sets featuring leaves.  Guess what?  Paisley and Posies has some wonderful leaf stamps in it!

Stamping with Stace Leaves BSU102616

Even the matching thinlits have some awesome leaves in them.

I chose to use Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry and Chocolate Chip.  These colors are everywhere near my house.

Here is a photo of color inspiration I took last week from the Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observatory. It is 447 feet in the air.  It is glass all the way around at the top.  GORGEOUS views once you get passed that queazy feeling for being up so high and you can look straight down.

I wonder what Terri and Carol have come up with the leaves them this month.  Carol’s blog is here.  Terri’s blog is here.  Would you like to join us in our challenges.  Join our Facebook group here.

Color Challenge BSU101916

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features a Broke Stampers Unite color challenge.  This week we had to use Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Whisper White.

stamping with stace flower patchMy card could also been used for last weeks two step stamping challenge as well  since I used the Flower Patch stamp set.

I originally thought these colors would be difficult to use together until I decide to use Flower Patch.  I am not sure if this is a fall card or a spring card with this color combination.  Maybe it is an all year card.  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Let’s see what type of projects Terri and Carol came up with this week. Terri’s blog is here.  Carol’s blog is here.  Would you like to join us in the color challenge?  You can on our Facebook page, which is right here.

Two Step Stamping BSU101216

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Two Step Stamping for a Broke Stampers Unite Challenge.

stamping with stace two step stampingPhotopolymer stamps make this technique so much easier.  Of course, I still seem to get one image slightly off (sigh).  Like they say, hand made is never perfect.

I used the Balloon Celebration stamp set, which has these really fun balloons.  I used Marina Mist for the solid balloon stamp.  Island Indigo is the dots that give the balloons a 3D effect.

The white card stock is layered with Basic Black with a Marina Mist card base.

Let’s check out what Terri and Carol created this week.  Terri’s blog is here.  Carol’s blog can be found here.  We would love it if you joined our Facebook group and shared your two step stamping with us.  Join us here.

Halloween Broke Stampers Unite Challenge 100516

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Halloween for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

haunted house card

So this week, my daughter and I made Halloween cards.  When I got the Holiday Catalog, I knew I wanted the Home Sweet Home Bundle and Ghoulish Grunge.

I started making Halloween cards.  Then my daughter got in on the act.  Her’s is the one that says HELP ME in the window.  According to her-all the scary movies have that written in blood on the windows.  I always thought it was a girl in high heels who falls down.  I guess I haven’t watched a scary movie in awhile.   🙂

I love making 3D Halloween items. I made some Haunted Houses.  These are stamping with stace home sweet home halloween broke stampers unite challengegreat.  You can cut the side door open for a haunted house;  or leave the sides solid and fill it with candy.  What do you like to make for Halloween?

Ttimeless textures broke stampers unite challenge stamping with staceimeless Textures is our stamp set of the month of September; and we’re into October.  Well, I had to make my card a thank you card for my dear coworker who is lending my daughter a pair of crutches for the next month!

The card base is Elegant Eggplant stamped with matching ink.  A layer of Pumpkin Pie.  The flower is several pieces of velum punched with the Pansy Punch.  I sponged  the velum with Pumpkin Pie and Elegant Eggplant.  A large pearl is in the center.  A couple pearls for an accent are on the left.

Color Challenge BSU092116

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features a color challenge for Broke Stampers Unite.  I love these because I tend to use just a couple colors on my cards.  This week we had to use Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla.

stamping with stace color challengeI had a such fun with this.  I love my framelits and Big Shot, and I wanted to use my Sunshine Wishes thinlits dies. I used to the small flowers from In the Meadow.

The word HOPE is raised with small pieces of dimensionals.  I also used up some of my retired candy dots.  Rhinestones could be used for a little bling as well.

I wonder what the girls are creating this week with these beautiful colors.  Carol’s blog is here and Terri’s blog is here.  Please share your creations with us on Facebook.

Shaker Card Challenge BSU091416

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features making a shaker card for the Broke Stampers Unite challenge this week. I used make shaker cards all the time when I first learned to stamp.  It seems so amazing to have glittery items shaking about in a card.

stamping with stace you've got this shaker cardGuess what I discovered when I went to make this card.  I didn’t have any glitter.  Eeeek!! Stampin’ Up! is so wonderful, you can always create what you need.  A little glitter cut into small pieces using the fringe scissors!!  There you have homemade glitter.

I used the texture stamp of You’ve Got This on the top layer of my card. I cut out an oval with my oval framelits.  On the back of the oval layer, I cut a piece of window sheet and glued them together. I put a layer of Foam Adhesive strips around the oval shape.  This will leave a space between the window sheet and the stamped image.

On a Very Vanilla piece of card stock, I stamped the flower of You’ve Got This.  I put my pieces of glittery glimmer paper in the center of the image.  I placed the window sheet layer over the stamped image.  This keeps all the glitter inside. People will be amazed that you could make a card with such a special feature.

I wonder what Terri and Carol came up with this week.  Terri’s projects can be found here. Carol’s projects are found here.  We would love it if you joined us on Facebook and shared your creations with us.

Holiday Catalog BSU090716

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Stampin’ Up!’s Fall/Holiday Catalog.

stamping with staceI used the Tin of Tags stamp set.  It is suggested to use for making Christmas tags.  I think it can be used for so much more than tags!

I used up some of my retired DSP (designer series paper).  I think it shows how versatile this set is since it isn’t used with Christmas DSP.   These cards could be used for almost any occasions that would would like to surprise someone or to let them know that you love them.

Terri and Carol have come up with wonderful cards using stamp sets from the Fall/Holiday catalog.  Let’s check them out!  Terri’s blog is here.  Carols blog is here.

BSU083116 3D Project

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features a 3D project for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

frankie box stamping with staceI made an adorable little Frankie box using the gift box maker and  various circle punches.

This cute little guy is the smallest box the box maker makes.  It measures 1.75″ cube.  His hair is a 3/4″ x 8 1/2″ band of Basic Black.  I used the 1″ circle punch for his eyes and 1/4″ paper punch (a basic back to school hand held paper punch) for the pupils and his nose.

I can’t wait to see what Carol and Terri created this week.  Let’s check out their blogs.  Terri’s is here.  Carol’s is here.  Share your 3D projects with us on  Facebook here, we would love to see what you create.

Work of Art Surprise BSU082416

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features using Work of Art for this weeks Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

Stamping with Stace Work of Art & Tin of TagsI love these types of stamps.  They make great backgrounds. I also used a new stamp set from the Fall/Holiday catalog called Tin of Tags.  This stamp set should be a must on your list.  It is featured as a set to make Christmas tags with.  I think there are some words that can be used for other things such as birthdays and Valentines Day.

Garden Green is used for the card base,  The Cherry Cobbler strip is 1″x 4 1/4″.  The Crushed Curry layer is  an3 3/4″  square.  The white is a 3 1/2″ square.  I randomly stamped the images from Work of Art.  Surprise is stamped with Cherry Cobbler.  Surprise is from the Tin of Tags set.  I think it is great for a birthday, don’t you?  September 1, you can visit my store and pick it up.

Color Challenge BSU081716

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features a color challenge for Broke Stampers Unite.  We had to use Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake, and Whisper White.

Stamping with Stace Paisleys & PosiesOnce I pulled my card stock out, I knew which stamp set I had to use: Paisley & Posies from the Fall/Holiday catalog and will be available for purchase September 1.  It has a matching die set as well.

To make the plain area to stamp the verse, I masked off the area using Post-It Note tape.  I love this stuff!  It’s great for masking because it peels off so easily.

Inked Embossing Folder Technique-BSU81016

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Inked Embossing Folder technique for a Broke Stampers Unite Challenge.

Stamping with Stace Inked Embossing Folder TechniqueI am a little behind on my challenges.  This was actually last weeks challenge.  In the end, I did get it completed.

If you have never used the Inked Embossing Folder Technique, it is quite easy.  It is exactly as it sounds.  On the smooth side of the embossing folder, I tapped my Early Esspresso ink pad directly to the plastic.  You could also use sponge daubers or a brayer if you wanted to.  I like a nice dark layer of ink, so I use the ink pad itself on the plastic.

I carefully place Crumb Cake card stock in the embossing folder, making sure I didn’t wiggle it too much.  Then, I ran it through my Big Shot.  The lighter wood grain is the part of the embossing folder that didn’t have ink on it.

The fox is stamped with Early Espresso ink.  I cut it with the Banner Framelits and layered it on a piece of Island Indigo card stock.  Once again, I have cut apart my burlap ribbon to make strands of thread.  The Grateful is from Seasonal Frame Thinlit Dies.  This is retired, however, you can still get it on the clearance rack.

Let’s go see what Carol and Terri came up with for this challenge.  Carol’s blog can be found here.  Terri’s blog can be found here.

Butterfly Theme Broke Stampers Unite Challenge 080316

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features butterflies for a Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

Istamping with stace, gorgeous grunge, butterfly thinlit decided to use my favorite Butterfly thinlit and stamp set, Gorgeous Grunge.

My card base is Marina Mist.  The butterfly is cut from Cherry Cobbler card stock using the Big Shot.

Did you notice my butterfly has antenna?  I LOVE burlap ribbon.  I constantly cut it and unravel it into strands.  That is what I did here.  I attached it with glue dots.

I used Marina Mist and Cherry Cobbler inks to stamp on Crumb Cake card stock to stamp Gorgeous Grunge images.

Swirly Bird BSU072716

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features the Swirly Bird Bundle for this weeks Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

stamping with stace swirly bird oceanI have a friend who works at Maine Maritime Academy.  For those who don’t know it is a college that teaches engineering and sailing ships.  Don’t ever call a ship a boat near them 🙂   Right now she is on an enjoyable cruise ship on vacation-not a working ship working.  I had her in mind when I made this card.

This is a simple card.  A Whisper White card base, layered with Marina Mist.  I sponged the ocean with Marina Mist.  The dark spots are stamped with Dapper Denim.  I layered the “wave” over the ocean, which was cut from Marina Mist.

The sun  background was sponged with Daffodil Delight and the sun itself with cut from matching card stock. The sailboat was stamped with Pumpkin Pie and Dapper Denim onto scrap white card stock and hand cut with scissors.  It has a dimensional behind it to give it a little pop.

Broke Stampers Unite Color Challenge 072016

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features a color challenge for Broke Stampers Unite.  We had to use red, white and blue this week.

stamping with stace mini gift bagI went away last weekend and stayed at a friends house.  They were so generous letting me and my daughter (along with a few other guests) stay at their house.  Having a house full of people can be nerve racking even for just one night!  We all had a wonderful time at Old Hallowell Days thanks to our wonderful host.

old hallowell days 2016

part of the finale-you can’t even see the other side of the river.

When we first said the colors would be red, white and blue, I instantly thought of July 4th and fireworks.  Of course that was quite awhile ago.   Old Hallowell Days has activities going on for an entire weekend including FIREWORKS!!

Anyhow, back to my project.  I used red designer series paper (DSP) and the Mini Gift bag thinlit to make the gift bag.  I used the banner to cut a piece of Marina Mist. For You was cut from Silver Glimmer Paper. Both of these items are in with the Mini Gift Bag set.

stamping with stace mini gift bag gift card holder

The inside is a piece of Marina Mist.  I will use glue dots to add a gift card to the insert.  I stamped the images which were from the  B.Y.O.B stamp set with the new in-color Dapper Denim.  I love this color!

Spotlighting Technique -BSU071316

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features the Spotlighting Technique for our weekly Broke Stampers Unite Challenge.

stamping with stace spotlight techniqueThis technique may look difficult, but it isn’t.  At least not the way I did it.  My card base is Basic Black.  I stamped on a Whisper White layer with Stazon ink using the flower from You’ve Got This stamp set.

With my 1 1/4″ circle punch, I punched part of the flower.  I colored it with Real Red and an aqua painter and Crushed Curry.  Next, I punched Basic Black with a 1 3/8″ circle punch. I layered the two pieces together.  Then, I placed a dimensional on the back.  I carefully aligned the two image pieces back together.

I stamped Happy Birthday Sunshine with the Sunshine Sayings stamp set.  I added some sequins that I had from the local store.

Birthday Wishes -BSU070616

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features a Broke Stampers Unite Challenge.  This weeks theme is birthdays.

stamping with stace birthday cardEvery one needs birthday cards so this is a great challenge this week.  I love the new stamp set Sunshine Sayings.  It has many great verses plus a wonderful coordinating framelit set.  Today, I only used the Happy Birthday verse.

I used lots of retired product this week.  However, the concept is simple and can be used with any designer series paper and accessories.

Whisper White is a standard card base.  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is cut 4″x4″.  Washi tape was used as an accent across the DSP.  I used a flower punch to cut two flowers.  One from Whisper White card stock and one from velum.  The center is cut from Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper.   I stamped Happy Birthday from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set on Whisper White and cut a banner.  And there you have a cute and quick birthday card.

ABC (Anything But a Card) BSU062916

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features an ABC (Anything But a Card) Broke Stampers Unite challenge.

My inspiration was Pinterest.  Usually, if I need inspiration, I will go to Pinterest.  The other day I was just on Pinterest and a Star Shaker Ornament was on my feed from lovinstampin.  I thought how cool, it could be completely changed up for the Fourth of July!

July 4th Shaker Ornament

So here is my Forth of July shaker ornament before I punched a small hole and added string at the top.  I wish my  iPad could get the sparkly effects of the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper that I used for the “thanks”.  My thinlit is a retired set, but you could use the thanks from Hello You thinlit set that is current.

My stars are made from using the Star Framelt set on Night of Navy and Real Red card stock; and on a piece of Window Sheet.  I filled my shaker ornament with red and white sequins from my local department store.

I wonder what Terri has created this week. Let’s check her blog here.  Carol has a crazy schedule going on, so she won’t be joining us for a bit; but we know she is with us in Creative Spirit.  Would you like to share your ABC projects with us?  Join us on Facebook here.

sprinkles of life stamping with stace

I just love this years In-Colors, they are so pretty and vibrant.  The card base is Dapper Denim, layered with Emerald Envy.  The flowers are stamped with Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, and Sweet Sugarplum.  The cloud is Dapper Denim stamped off once on scrap paper before stamping it on the Whisper White.

The Tree Builder punch works wonders with Sprinkles of Life.  It made it so easy to stamp trees or (cupcakes or ice cream or snowmen or whatever you can think of).
