Masculine Birthday Card with Make A Wish

Are you like me and sometimes have a hard time making cards that are not all flowers and bright colored? Ok, so this one does have fairly bright colors but they are stereotypical boy colors.male birthday card

This is a really fast card to make with the help of Stampin’ Up!’s paper packs.  All the papers in the paper pack coordinate with each other so it is a no brainer when it comes to matching patterned designs (which I am terrible at).  So if you are like me, purchase some of the designer series paper packs and you will have no problems. That is one of things I love about Stampin’ Up! products most is that ALL items coordinate with each other:  Designer Series Papers (DSP), card stock, markers, ink pads and ribbons.

Like I said, this card is very easy to put together.  The actual stamped image was colored with markers directly to the rubber.  Isn’t it great Stampin’ Up! markers can be applied directly to the rubber so your image can have more than one color in the design??? I think the silver button gives the card a hint of industrial feel to it.  You know how men are out in their garages with silver tools & tool boxes. Boys have their toys too.

This card is also being posted in a Blog Hop with a group I belong to called VC Rocks! (a group of stampers demo & non-demo alike).  It is an awesome group of ladies who get together online every spring & summer to chat and share creative ideas. Happy Birthday Cupcake

Sorry I am behind this past week. Last week was school vacation, the daycare I work for was busy all week which meant I worked all day everyday.  We kept the children very busy (and the adults too).  We went hiking & made gnome houses for the wood gnomes. We went to the circus, which entailed several hours on a school bus. We went roller skating. I need a vacation after vacation.  I went to bed early every night.

Mountain view

This is a view from our hike. It wasn’t a super sunny day, which made it nice for the hike.  The kids were warm but not too hot.  They like to whine when they get to hot :)  I think I may have to play with My Digital Studio a little with some of the photos.

Ok, now back to stamping. Here is a quick and simple card that only takes a few minutes to make.  Changing the colors can change it from being girlish to boyish. I have  made this card in blues & greens, which made an adorable card for a boy.

make a wish femaleThis is a must have in your arsenal of quick card ideas.  A card base, a little Designer Series Paper, a Big Shot Die, and the cupcake punch.

I wish I had taken a better photo of this card.  It looks very flat.  However, the yellow Designer Series Paper (DSP) is actually on the inside of the card.  I took my standard size card and cut about an inch and a quarter off the right hand side.  The DSP is cut about one and half inches and placed on the inside of the card. The whisper white card stock cut with the top note die is adhered to the front left side of the card only.

Still Lovin’ Sycamore Street!

secret garden sab

I don’t know what I will do when Saleabration is over.  I have fallen in love with the Sycamore Street DSP.  Are you like me? Originally, I really didn’t care for this paper-but as usual it is SO pretty in person!

The Designer Series Paper is so pretty by itself it doesn’t need a lot of stamping to take away from it.  This is a great card for beginner stampers. It really only has two stamped images in Rich Razzleberry ink. How simple is that???  SUPER SIMPLE.
