Botanicals for You- Sale-A-Bration

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative & Chaotic craft room! Today’s project features Sale-A-Brations  Botonicals for You.

botanicals for you. saleabration 2016I just love the verses with this set and the large verse “Just for You”. Plus the cute flowers, Heaven!

These little flowers just shout pretty, bright colors are needed to me. Plus, I want spring to get here.  We have had snow this past week :(   Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Pumpkin Pie are so bright and cheerful for this card.  Old Olive is wonderful for the sentiment and leaves as well.

I layered it on Pumpkin Pie card stock, and my card base is Melon Mambo.  This is one of those quick cards for our Creative Chaotic lives.  If I received this card with some chocolate, I would be in heaven.

Don’t forget this stamp set is from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  The Sale-a-bration catalog is filled with items that can be yours FREE with every $50 you spend.  Check out the catalog here.

2015 Holiday Catalog is Here!

Hi Stampers! Welcome to my Creative Spa.  Guess what I TOTALLY forgot to stampin-up-holiday-catalog-481x600post last week?? The 2015 Holiday Catalog! Yes, I am hanging my head in shame.  I have been playing with items that I got to preorder and haven’t shared any of it.

Let me know if you haven’t received a copy from me.  Or you can download it here.  It has soooo many stinkin’ cute items.  I can hardly stand it.  I want one of everything!!

My first project I made was a sour cream container.  I have a kids class coming up soon and this is a great project to get kids started wit paper crafting and stamping.

imageI love the Designer Series Paper (DSP).  It’s called Happy Haunting.  The designs are wonderfully spooky on one side.  The other are wonderful fall patters so it doesn’t all have to be used by Halloween. The pattern I used is so cute with the headstones and ravens.

I used the stamp set Sweet Hauntings.  I love the verses: Death by Chocolate, A Treat Worth Dying For, Happy Happy Halloween along with all the poison bottles.  (Being a complete Harry Potter fan, I can use these bottles for all sorts of things.)  I stamped an image that coordinates with the Note Tag punch.

Anyhow, back to my project.  This sour cream holder was made by cutting 12″x12″ Designer Series Paper into four 6″x6″ squares.  You can make 48 treat holders from one package of paper. How awesome it that??? Pretty awesome in my book.  Friends and family will be surprised to find candy inside these.  My favorite is Lindt Chocolate Truffles. I think I eat more than what gets placed in the packages.

Cutie Pie Christmas!

Hi Stampers, welcome to my Creative Chaos!  I have been waiting for the man in brown to show up!  It was a club order and I only ordered one item, but I couldn’t wait for it to get here.

Do you ever get an idea in your head and can’t wait to try it?  I sure did.  I couldn’t wait to try the new Cutie Pie Thinlit.  I know it makes the cutest little cake slices ever.  However, I had a completely different plan for it.  My first idea was Rudolf!

image Isn’t he just the cutest??  Ok, so his eyes look like he may have had a little too much eggnog. :)  His antlers and ears were made using the Flower Fair Framelits.

While I was patiently waiting for the Man in Brown to show up this week; the online group, VC Rocks, announced they were having a blog hop featuring new items from the catalog.  I said I would join if my idea worked out.  This idea worked so well, this was my first attempt.  No altering, no fussing, no mess.  It was great!

As I was cutting out the box, I looked at it and said “wow, thatimage looks like a tree”.  So here was project number two.  Very simple since I was just playing around.  I may make a second attempt later so I can stamp some texture on the tree. If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you will see the gold trim actually has some wave to it.  I used the wave blade on the rotary addition on the Stampin’ Trimmer.

I think I am going to have a lot of fun with this die.  Halloween may be next.

Work of Art Week

Hi Stampers!

imageBack in May, I went to a Stampin’ Up! regional event.  We all received a stamp set called Work of Art. I love going to Stampin’ Up! events- they spoil us so much.

Here is one of my creations I will be featuring this week.  It works wonderfully by itself or used as background stamps for other cards.  This weeks cards will feature only Work of Art.

I do have one VERY IMPORTANT TIP for you. If you order the wood mount set.  It fits exactly in the box.  I would take a photo of how the blocks are arranged. Next cut a piece of paper or card stock to fit inside the box and stamp your images on it in the place where they belong.  Other wise you may have a puzzle every time you use this set; or if they fall out when you open the box.  Hmmm, guess how I know how frustrating it is to solve that puzzle.

I can’t wait to show you all the things you can do with this stamp set.  Some are my own creations.  Some I learned from Stampin’ Up!’s home office, and some I cased from ideas I have seen on Pinterest.

Chalkboard Technique aka My First Video

Chalkboard Technique video card

Here is a card I made using the chalkboard technique.  Most cards I have seen & created have had a white gel pen “frame” around the edges. Today I tried something a little different.

Originally, I wanted to make one brightly colored 3D flower from Secret Garden to add some pop to a chalkboard technique.  I didn’t like it.  I had a “frame” and the flowers looked a little awkward….in the trash they went (well the scrap pile for later anyways).  From there I decided to place the verse in the middle, and then I thought what the heck, I would use Secret Garden the way I normally do when I use colored ink.  Filler flowers first, then the solid ones. Rhinestones to dot the “i”s for a little bling.

So here is my very first video tutorial.  I was so nervous making it and I was the only one home.  Who would say anything to me?? The dog or two cats :)  I sure hope you like it.

Supplies to make this project:

  • # 121045 Basic Black Card Stock
  • #106960 Stazon On White Stamp Pad
  • # 119246 Rhinestone Basic Jewels
  • # 131916 (w) # 129684 (c) Feel Goods Stamp Set
  • # 131949 (w) # 129144 (c) Secret Garden Stamp Set

Best Bouquet Ever

I do NOT have a green thumb at all.  I am lucky to keep a cactus alive :)

best bouquet closeupCut flowers are pretty but they will pass by eventually as well.  I am sure I have found my solution.  Bloomin’ Bouquet Project Kit to the rescue. This is the Best Bouquet ever, I don’t need to remember to water them.  Aren’t they just gorgeous??  They are so bright and cheerful. Which is wonderful after a week of rain.

best bouquet

I have decided to keep these in my craft room to be cheerful and to remind me to CREATE.

As soon as I saw this kit and the new Stampin’ Up! catalog, I knew what class I wanted to offer this summer.  BEAUTIFUL BLOOMIN’ BOUQUET BUNDLE.  Come make an entire bouquet of paper flowers using the new stamp set Flower Shop and coordinating Pansy Punch.   You will leave here with a dozen flowers plus enough supplies to make another dozen at home.  INCLUDING THE STAMPS AND PUNCH! This class is $50 with your choice of clear or wood mount stamps.

You must register for this class by May 30, 2013 so I can order enough stamp sets and punches for everyone.

I can’t wait to have paper flowers all over my house to make it cheery.  The color of the flowers can be changed for the time of year. Rich Regals colors would make lovely fall flowers.  Don’t you agree?

Hostesses, Chocolate & Sneak Peeks, Oh My!

So what do Stamp Club Hostesses and chocolate have in common?  A sneak

all new club members giftpeek at a new stamp set called Really Good Greetings.  I selected the verse Finally A Day That Really Is All About You.  Most people might think to use that as a birthday sentiment.  In this case I used it for my Stamp Club Members.  When it is their turn to be hostess, the day is all about them and stamping.  How, awesome is that?  Want to know how you can join one of my stamp clubs?  Click here.

chocolate holder close up jpg copy

What?  You want a close up of that verse?  Well here you go. Isn’t it just cute?  An you want to know how to make one of these cute little holders yourself?  Super easy.

First start with a piece of Designer Series Paper measuring 9 3/4″x 3 1/4″. Score at 3 14″ and 6 1/2″ inches.   You should now have three equal parts.inside chocolate

Cut the last third at a diagonal. Place red sticky strip at the bottom to hold the pocket securely.  Wrap with a coordinating ribbon and decorate. Insert a yummy chocolate of choice.

I decorated mine with the new stamp set Really Good Greetings, punched with a circle punch and layered on the large scallop punch.

4 designs of chocolate holder

Here are the four designs I made from the one package of Designer Series Paper. Sunshine & Sprinkles.  I just love this paper and even the name of it is so cheery and fun.  I will be sad to see it go away at the end of May.

Now I have a little story to tell you.  After I finished creating a dozen and a half of these cute little chocolate holders, my friend Loni sent an email out saying she was setting up a blog hop this weekend.  The theme being “Hostess Gifts”.  I am not kidding I had just finished about 10 minutes before I got the email.  I said sure, I just finished a bunch of hostess gifts.  These items don’t have to be for a hostess.  They can be  for teachers, co-workers or a friend you are thinking of.  If you would like to see other small gifts you could make for someone, click here.

Supplies to create this project:

  • # 126922 Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper.
  • # 126877 Whisper White 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon
  • # 105125 Certainly Celery Card Stock
  • # 105120 Bashful Blue Card Stock
  • # 118873  2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch
  • # 130330 (w) # 130333 (c) Really Good Greetings
  • # 104294 Sticky Strip

I will be leaving this project up all weekend for the blog hop.

New Catalogs & New Stamp Clubs

The weather had finally started to warm up here in Maine.  It has been almost 60 degrees for a couple days in a row.  I am grateful for that. I hate stalking the  man with the big brown truck when it is cold out. :) Trust me, I will be waiting at my front door next week since he will be bringing me 3 cases of BRAND NEW STAMPIN’ UP! 2013-2014 CATALOGS.

Stamp Club-001

Would you like to see what one looks like? My Stamp Club Members will be getting theirs first. I will be starting two new local clubs in June.  One club is being held in the Bucksport, Me area.  The other is being held in my home in Norway, ME.

What are the benefits of being part of a “Inky Fingers Stamp Club?”

You will get to try products and techniques before you buy them.

Everyone has a turn at earning the hostess credits.  These can be spent on any items in the catalog.  It is your choice to use them on hostess only products or not.  You can increase your hostess credits by taking outside orders.

You will leave with 3 completed projects–usually these are cards, but sometimes it will be scrapbook pages or 3D items.

You will receive your own copy of Stampin Up’s Idea Book & Catalog absolutely free.

You will not have to clean your house to have everyone over.

Doesn’t that sound like so much fun???  I can see you shaking your head yes.  Give me a call or email to join today.
